Hardware River Watershed (main stem)

     The two forks of the Hardware River (North Fork and South Fork) join forces just west of Carters Bridge to become the Hardware River. Thirty square miles of the Hardware's main stem watershed lie within Albemarle County, with most of this watershed being downstream in Fluvanna County. The Hardware River flows into the James River at the Hardware River State Wildlife Management Area in Fluvanna (south of Route 6 and east of Scottsville). The landscape of the Hardware Watershed is mostly rural and agricultural.
