Totier Creek Watershed

The Totier Creek Watershed is of importance to the residents of Scottsville, whose drinking water supply is the Totier Creek Reservoir, located just south of the town. The reservoir is managed by the Rivanna Water & Sewer Authority. The watershed is bounded by Keene (Route 712) to the north, Porters (Route 627) to the west, the Town of Scottsville to the east, and the James River to the south, encompassing an area of 29 square miles. The Reservoir is near the bottom of the watershed, just upstream from the flood plain of the James. The major streams in the watershed are Totier Creek, Rock Castle Creek, and Mill Creek. Outside of the town limits, the land in the watershed is primarily agricultural and rural.
